We are so humbled!

WOW – and thank you!  We have been completely blown away by the communal response from the blogging world to the devastation in Haiti.  Bloggers and readers alike have bound together to make a HUGE difference.
I was watching Bill O’Reilly las night and was amazed to hear the financial numbers he listed off.  He pointed out that so many other countries are sending as little as possible to Haiti, while doing their best to not send nothing.  On the other hand, the United States is graciously opening its wallet and giving generously.  Not just our government, which has pledged $100 Billion dollars, but also our businesses who have collectively donated $45 Billion, and our citizens, who have the potential to surpass even other countries’ pledges (China, for example, is only pledging $5 Billion)!!  I am so proud to be able to count myself among the many here in the US who make this the most generous nation!
Aside from my own political beliefs, and I have many strong ones, and despite my reservations about President Obama pledging our tax dollars without regulated oversight in place, I think now is the time when our wealth should be shared – when we should freely give it to a county who is in such desperate need of life-sustaining necessities!
Thank you to all of my fellow bloggers and our wonderful readers for coming together and letting the people of Haiti know that they are loved, they are protected, and they worth more than they can fathom.  While this tragedy is to be mourned, I am excited to see the ways in which the Lord will use this devastation to further His Kingdom – not just in Haiti, but across the globe!
We are proud to announce that we will be donating $117 on behalf of everyone who created a link or commented on our “Haiti Needs Our Help” post, in addition to our own personal contribution.  We will continue to honor additional links and comments, but wanted to rush our gift to World Vision ASAP.
Speaking of which, I am SO excited to announce that each dollar we donate will be multiplied THREE times, thanks to US Government grants!  Which means that our fellow bloggers and our readers are really giving $351, not $117!  I know that number may not sound like much, but when you consider the fact that most Haitians live off less than $2 per day, every penny really matters!
Please continue to pray for Haiti over the upcoming months and years.  Do not allow yourself to be moved into action on only a short term basis.  There are millions of people all across the globe who require our help just to stay alive.  Consider sponsoring a reputable organization for the long run.  Together, we can be His hands and feet!
